Ginevra, daughter of the king of Scotland, is in love with Ariodante. Polinesso Ariodante plays before an intrigue to bring him apart and Ginevra. Ariodante janitor believed then, Ginevra was in love with Polinesso and tries to kill himself. Lurcanio janitor announced at court death Ariodantes and accused Ginevra of infidelity. The king violates Ginevra. But Dalinda, who was involved in the deception of Polinesso, Ariodante is alive and convinced him that Ginevra is faithful to him. Meanwhile kills Lurcanio Polinesso in combat. Ariodante returns to the court and convinced the King of Dalindas and Ginevra's innocence. Together Ginevra free them from prison and celebrate their love.
The stage is a Garden: From the stone floor protrude flowers dummies, on the sides walls are painted, a tree grows obliquely from the left wall and the rear wall is papered with leaf motifs. In the first act stands Katharina Hagopian (Ginevra) warm, fervent soprano forth. janitor In the heights she intoned with a lot of pressure, but not forced. Unfortunately, the vibrato of her voice overshadowed the trill. These succeed Jelena Rakic (Dalinda) for the better. In the aria Apri le luci - Open the eyes she sings the trill as nimble and cleanly articulated that it is reminiscent of chirping birds. She lets her slender soprano in the heights graceful shine, without creating too much pressure. A counterbalance creates Sanja Radišić (Polinesso). In the triplets of the aria Se l'inganno sortisce felice - If I have luck in this deception she gives her mezzo-soprano voice in vibrato energetic momentum and changes in the low notes in the chest voice, thereby emphasizing the feeling of hate even more. However, the biggest surprise is Violetta Radomirska (Ariodante). She sings with a clear, soft melting soprano voice. The culmination of their skills she displays in the second act in the aria Scherza janitor infida - you have joy infidelity. Very gently she breathes the high notes in sotto voce pianissimo what sounds like sobs as she is crouching on the ground. From the men's shows Patricio Arroyo (Lurcanio) the best performance. He sings the love aria Del sol VEZZOSI million rai - From my side the rays of the sun in the first act with his lyrical tenor very gentle and legato. Sets and costumes act unanimously, as they provide authentic the Baroque period. Apart from minor irritations in the final act, as the poster with the inscription "select future", the production is focused on the skills of the singer. And this is absolutely superb. Above all, Violetta Radomirska that was the crowd favorite of the evening. It provides for a fun-filled evening. Worth seeing and hearing!
